New Orleans: Museum of Trade, Finance, and the Fed

In many cities in the US, you can visit a fun and free museum about money at the local branch of the Federal Reserve Bank. I recently visited the New Orleans Museum of Trade, Finance, and the Fed, and I can vouch for it. Located at the New Orleans branch of the Atlanta Fed, the museum has a fun display about the history of trade in the New Orleans area and a video presentation about the history of central banking (relevant for Hamilton buffs). And at the end, everyone can take home a little bag of shredded currency.

The museum’s handout includes a walking tour of the New Orleans financial district and French Quarter, giving money nerds their fix amidst the glitz of NO.
