Cash is still the king

I prefer to use cash as much as possible. It makes me mindful of my spending, and it is accepted everywhere.

Yesterday, I had lunch with friends at their high-rise apartment. I parked in the building garage. When it was time to go, I realized that I left my wallet at home. Would they take a check? Run a credit card number without the card? Chase QuickPay? PayPal?

No, no, no, and no. I had to call my hostesses and ask them to bail me out. How embarrassing!

The moral of the story is that no matter how many payment alternatives you have, cash is the best bet.

And now, I owe my friends dinner, not lunch!
